Australian Education: Engaging the World
In November 2005, Australian Education and Training Ministers agreed to a Transnational Quality Strategy (TQS) framework that will protect and promote the quality of our education and training delivered in other countries. Ministers agreed the TQS is vital if Australia is to sustain its international reputation as a quality education and training provider which delivers education and training abroad equivalent to that delivered in Australia.
More information regarding the development of the TQS is available here.
The AusLIST search site is the Australian list of institutions and courses around the world and is a major TQS initiative which allows potential students to search for Australian courses and education providers in their home country.
Students can search AusLIST through Study in Australia under the Study in Your Country heading.
AusLIST Survey A quick survey of users of the AusLIST search site is in progress. The survey will ask visitors to the site questions in relation to their interest in AusLIST and specifically in which sector they are looking for courses. The survey will be made available to anyone using the AusLIST search site
Survey results will be made available in due course.
Resources for Providers

These resources can be accessed through the links below and are available on MIP (Market Information Package). If you are not a MIP subscriber and are an Australian institution interested in these resources you can request a copy by emailing auslist@deewr.gov.au.
The resources available are:

Data on Offshore Delivery
Increased access to data and information about Australia's transnational education and training is an important component of the TQS.
Higher education statistics collection
Data on offshore delivery by higher education providers is collected as part of the higher education statistics collection. The data is available from the Department's website at: university statistics. To access the data, select the 'overseas students file' from the 'students statistics' series.
Delivery of VET offshore by public providers
DEEWR contracts the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER), Australia's principal provider of vocational education and training statistics, to undertake an annual collection of data on the offshore activities of public providers of vocational education and training. The 2007 collection is now available.
