AusLIST

AusLIST is an online directory of:

  • Australian education and training providers who currently deliver education or training in other countries;
  • the Australian courses they deliver in those countries; and
  • the locations where those courses are delivered.

You can view the AusLIST search site at www.auslist.deewr.gov.au.

The AusLIST search site is also hosted on the Study in Australia website at the tab titled Study in your country.

AusLIST lists Australian education and training providers who currently deliver education or training outside Australia. These providers must:

  • be approved providers delivering education and training in Australia as well as offshore; and
  • give an undertaking to deliver courses offshore to a comparable standard to those they deliver in Australia.

The courses listed on AusLIST must:

  • be Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) or English Language Training (ELT) courses;
  • be available for enrolment at the time of listing; and
  • include a compulsory face-to-face component outside of Australia.

The following courses can not be listed on AusLIST:

  • Assessment only services. Listed courses must have a delivery component in the host country;
  • Non-award courses, other than non-award ELT courses;
  • Foundation courses;
  • Courses delivered by Australian approved providers but not leading to Australian qualifications; and
  • Courses delivered purely in an online/distance mode. To be listed on AusLIST courses must contain a compulsory face-to-face component offshore.

Providers seeking listing on AusLIST can apply online through the AusLIST application system. Listing can be sought for institutions or additional courses at anytime.

Australian education and training providers who also deliver education or training outside of Australia can find out how to apply for AusLIST listing here.

Providers seeking listing on AusLIST must give an undertaking (in the Provider Declaration) that they will operate within the laws and regulatory requirements of each country in which they operate.

As part of the approval process for listing, DEEWR confirms compliance with its offshore Counsellor network.

Special provisions for courses delivered in China

The Ministry of Education (MoE) in China requires foreign institutions to be registered. When registered, a MoE number is assigned. The MoE number relates to a course at a particular location.

Providers who deliver courses in China are required to provide information on their approval status by including appropriate MoE numbers when they submit those courses for inclusion on AusLIST.
